My name is Lauren Wingate, and I’m a pastry chef who LOVE LOVE LOVES creating one of a kind wedding cakes for brides! I attended Johnson & Wales University Baking & Pastry Program, but I am mostly self-taught in the cake decorating field. I love trying new ideas and being different from everyone around me. I like to stand out in the crowd!
I joined the Wedding Meets Fashion Team to meet and connect with other luxury/high-end wedding business professionals and so that we can all help each other in this time of uncertainty. The support of other small business wedding professionals is much needed, and we can help each other grow and overcome obstacles that we are all having.
At this time, my dream/goal is to have a business completely concentrated in Weddings & Special Event Cakes as opposed to birthdays and smaller parties.
I would say my biggest professional achievement was creating and offering upside down hanging chandelier wedding cakes!
If I wasn’t a baker, I would absolutely be in the health/yoga or pilates field. I really enjoy practicing pilates and yoga, learning how to better take care of myself and the right foods to eat. I know, it’s completely the opposite of feeding people cake! Haha
I absolutely love a good fruit tart.
BEACH! I love the beach and would be there every day if I didn’t have a job! I grew up in the coastal town of Westport, Massachusetts, and I could never imagine living in a place where the beach was more than 30 minutes away!
My favorite color is blue.
Favorite taste…anything truffle! I’ve recently been trying brie and different cheeses with truffle oil or truffle chips, and I cannot stop!
